Buying a used ASIC miner

A second-hand ASIC miner is the fastest way to add hashrate at a lower entry price. Older generations such as the Antminer S19 still mine profitably at a low electricity rate, and a used unit pays itself back sooner because you pay less up front. The trade-off is efficiency: a newer model produces more hashrate per kilowatt, which matters more as your power price goes up.

We sell used and refurbished miners from our own warehouse in the Netherlands. Every unit is tested by our team before it ships, and the product page lists its condition and measured hashrate, so you know exactly what you are buying.

What to check before you buy a used miner

  • Hashrate under load: ask for the measured hashrate after a full test run, not the nameplate figure. All hash boards should be running.
  • Power supply: check that the PSU matches the model and your mains voltage. A worn PSU is one of the most common failures on older units.
  • Fans and temperature: fans should spin up without noise, and chip temperatures should stay within Bitmain's specification.
  • Physical condition: dust, corrosion or signs of water damage shorten the life of the hash boards.
  • Warranty and repair: find out what is covered and who repairs the unit if a board fails. We repair miners in our own repair centre in the Netherlands.

Used or new: which models make sense?

Used units of the Antminer S19 family remain the most requested second-hand Bitcoin miners. If you want a newer generation at a sharp price, take a look at the Super Sale, or compare the current successors: the Antminer S21 and the more efficient Antminer S21 XP. For Zcash, the Antminer Z15 Pro is the current Equihash model.
